Senior Season 2011!

Someone e-mailed me recently to ask whether or not I do senior portraits.

Yes! I do! I love shooting seniors!

(And just so that we are clear, by senior portraits, I mean portraits of graduating HIGH SCHOOL seniors– not the senior portraits you will find HERE)

New for 2011 are these über-cool image boxes for your wallet photos that are included this year with every senior collections. No more cardboard boxes or rubber bands to keep your wallets together.

Anyway…. the start of summer is usually the start of senior season. So, whether you are looking for an experience straight out of America’s Top Model, or maybe something more low key and traditional, I’m ready!

Here is another model who I’ve taken every opportunity to photograph. You have only to look at the top of this page to see a photo of her from years past. We met up a few weeks ago to update her pictures. Here’s one of my favorites from the day.

One Year Later….

Some of you will recognize this model-pretty beauty from last year or from the amazing pictures that her talented photographer-Mom has made of her. Last year, I raced the light and arrived just in time to get a few photographs of her before the sun went down. Those pictures from last year are here. And here.

Well, it’s almost exactly one year later. And this time, instead of rapidly fading twilight, I had harsh mid-day sun to contend with. No scrim…. No reflector…. No shade. So I tried to use it instead of fight it. Here are a few of the pictures.

Since I couldn’t show you a face for the iheartfaces contest last week, how about a face this week! I had the pleasure of shooting this young model last weekend. She is just a natural in front of the camera! And do you see the dimples? I have soooooooooo many amazing pictures of her.

I blogged last year about my tradition of sending handmade New Year’s cards. Well, I sent out this year’s cards earlier this week, most people on my list should have gotten them already, so now I’m sharing with you!

If you’ve somehow misplaced your 3-D glasses, I do have some leftover and will send a pair to anyone who leaves a comment asking for them (You can e-mail your address using the link above so that you don’t have to post your address in the comments). Like they say: “While supplies last”. And no…. the 3-D glasses you brought home from the Avatar movie won’t work!

Here are just a few more from this past weekend. The first is just fun. I love the bright colors. The second is one that I really like, but typical me, can’t decide if I like better in color (those eyes!) or in black and white.

Sometimes it’s just fun to go out and take pictures, and if you can learn a thing or two in the process, all the better. I went out shooting with a few photo friends yesterday. Diane brought her two very beautiful and fun daughters to be our models for the afternoon. They did a great job (they were both naturals!) even though we wound up shooting until the sun went down. Here are some of the pictures. First, Megan:

Many Years Later

I photographed these sisters and their brother a looooooooooong time ago, back in the days when I shot everything with film and made the final prints in my own darkroom.

Well, things have changed. You wouldn’t recognize that these are the same kids. And I’m not shooting film or making darkroom prints anymore either.
