Shooting these pictures was nearly effortless (and so much fun) because Katie is such a natural model! Glamorous when she wants to be, great smile, and even willing to brave the snow in search of the perfect picture! Many many more great pictures coming!

It was Mom’s birthday on the day we shot these pictures, and the brothers were on their best behavior and even got up early so that we could get the best light! The boys had lots of energy and I got a workout keeping up with them. But the pictures were worth it!

JJ was the happiest boy, and even though he was at that age where strangers are not always welcome, he didn’t seem to mind having me around at all. But he had also just learned to walk and was not sitting still for no stinkin’ pictures! We still managed a few….

Impromptu Portraits

For the last 3 years, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting up with the amazingly talented photographer Lisa Holloway at the WPPI show in Las Vegas. Each year, Lisa has traveled with her daughter, and each year, I’ve made some impromptu portraits of her. Honestly, they are nothing compared to the breathtaking work that Lisa herself does. Still, Lisa’s daughter is so extraordinarlily beautilful that it is impossible NOT to want to photograph her. I’m not sure if it qualifies as a “tradition” quite yet, but I have. Every year. I am lucky enough to have a show of my photographs up during the month of March. On one wall, I am showing street photos taken over the past several years. On the opposite wall, some recent portraits I have made. I finished hanging the show today and it looks great! This gorgeous young model and I have been trying to shoot together for years. Really…. YEARS! Well, we finally made it happen, and it was well worth the wait. She brought a friend too, so I had a second beautiful young model to shoot. We were able to do some fun pictures together too. Both girls were amazing professionals and naturals in front of the camera. Here are just a few of their pictures….

He was soooo good when we took his pictures, and so was his big sister. I was warned that she was fidgety and didn’t like to look at the camera, both of which turned out to be completely untrue.
