Senior Season 2011!

Someone e-mailed me recently to ask whether or not I do senior portraits.

Yes! I do! I love shooting seniors!

(And just so that we are clear, by senior portraits, I mean portraits of graduating HIGH SCHOOL seniors– not the senior portraits you will find HERE)

New for 2011 are these über-cool image boxes for your wallet photos that are included this year with every senior collections. No more cardboard boxes or rubber bands to keep your wallets together.

Anyway…. the start of summer is usually the start of senior season. So, whether you are looking for an experience straight out of America’s Top Model, or maybe something more low key and traditional, I’m ready!

Early Morning Pictures

We were rained out twice before we actually met to do these pictures. I was warned that these kids might be just a little bit shy. Er… no! They took charge immediately, helped me to find the best place to shoot, and they even showed me the hole they had dug [almost] to China. We had a lot of fun shooting these!

And Now for Something Completely Different!

I know you are used to seeing portraits and more portraits here, but I was going through some older folders of photos and this one jumped out at me again. It was taken at the Michigan State Fair (oldest state fair in the country), in the breezeway between the dairy barn and the swine barn (seriously!). Just goes to show that there are pictures to be had nearly everywhere! To those who celebrate it, Happy Easter!

I Heart Dramatic Black and White Faces

I entered the IheartFaces weekly contest a few weeks ago because their weekly theme was a great match for one of my very favorite photos. I won! You can see my winning entry and the judges comments HERE.

Well…. The theme for this weeks contest also immediately brought to mind another of my all-time favorite photos (again, from the days when I actually shot film). And on top of that, this week’s judge is Tara Whitney, one of my very favorite photographers.

Another Updated Model

Here is another model who I’ve taken every opportunity to photograph. You have only to look at the top of this page to see a photo of her from years past. We met up a few weeks ago to update her pictures. Here’s one of my favorites from the day.

One Year Later….

Some of you will recognize this model-pretty beauty from last year or from the amazing pictures that her talented photographer-Mom has made of her. Last year, I raced the light and arrived just in time to get a few photographs of her before the sun went down. Those pictures from last year are here. And here.

Well, it’s almost exactly one year later. And this time, instead of rapidly fading twilight, I had harsh mid-day sun to contend with. No scrim…. No reflector…. No shade. So I tried to use it instead of fight it. Here are a few of the pictures.

Since I couldn’t show you a face for the iheartfaces contest last week, how about a face this week! I had the pleasure of shooting this young model last weekend. She is just a natural in front of the camera! And do you see the dimples? I have soooooooooo many amazing pictures of her.
